My Fathers Playlist
One of my favourite lessons taught by my father was the appreciation of good music. I grew up listening to Dylan, Springsteen, Simon and Garfunkel and Tchaikovsky. Our favourite game in the car or on a winters evening is to test each others music knowledge by taking it in turns to play one of the classics. We must guess the song in the first few bars... Our own version of the Buzzocks Intro Round.
When I was last with my father, I asked him to write down for my his favourite songs. Fascinatingly many of the songs in the list would be on my own list. Some on the other hand, to my shame I had not heard of. This is why I like to exercise curiosity in peoples favourite things. Whilst we know the obvious will pop up, once in a while we will be delighted to a new treat to the ears or eyes and a new appreciation is born.
So here it is. My father's ultimate playlist. Enjoy!
